    After receiving her periodontal degree from the University of Texas at Houston, Dr. Hiru Mathur went into private practice in 1999. A Board Certified periodontist, Dr. Mathur has been as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Texas at Houston since 1999. Dedicated to improving clinical skills and better patient care, Dr. Mathur takes continuing education courses and has founded her own study club to help dentists and their staff members impove their practices.

She is a member of numerous pretigious dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Texas Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society, American Association of Women Dentists and the Southwest Society of Periodontists.

Dr. Mathur is married and had two children. She fluently speaks 5 languages including Indian and Spanish. In addition to working with several community organizations, Dr. Mathur enjoys traveling and reading.
